Big Buy Brief
How we choose products
The method behind Big Buy Brief buying guides: sourced specs, no invented testing, no fake ratings.
Our guides cover expensive categories where a careful choice matters. For each guide we:
- Check which models are currently selling at major retailers, using public signals such as best-seller listings.
- Shortlist models from established brands that publish complete spec sheets and warranty terms.
- Compare only the specs those manufacturers publish, and link each source.
- Write the trade-offs that follow from those specs (weight, capacity, warranty length and so on).
- Point you to independent publications that do hands-on lab testing.
What we don't do
- We don't claim hands-on testing we haven't done.
- We don't publish star ratings, scores or reviews we didn't create.
- We don't copy retailer prices. Retailer links show the current price.
- We don't let commissions decide which products appear or in what order.
